Anglers Inn International setting the standard for outfitting in Mexico & The Amazon Basin

The team at Anglers Inn International looks forward to a new fishing season in Mexico, one with some changes and increased opportunities to better serve its customers.

“We’re looking forward to a great season in all of our operations,” said Billy Chapman, Jr., the owner and founder of Anglers Inn International and a 2009 inductee into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame. “At Lake El Salto, we finished an unbelievable season in July 2009, one of the best ever for fishing in the history of Anglers Inn. Lake Mateos, the hottest numbers lake in Mexico, continues to build upon its reputation as the best topwater bass fishery with the size of fish increasing each year. We’re also excited about our saltwater excursions, fly fishing division, bird hunting operations and returning to the Amazon in 2010.”

Among the changes, Billy’s son, Chappy will no longer be working for Anglers Inn. As part of his job, he assisted with public relations for the past nine years. In his place, Anglers Inn International hired John N. Felsher (john.felsher@anglersinn.com) as the new director of public relations. An Air Force veteran, Felsher wrote more than 1,300 articles for more than 100 outdoor publications and worked for several newspapers in the past 32 years.

In addition, Anglers Inn International entered into an exclusive agreement with Pueblo Bonito Resorts, one of the top luxury resort chains, to provide additional sports-oriented vacation options for guests. Situated in the picturesque Sierra Madre Mountains about 70 miles from Mazatlan, Mexico, the 24,000-acre El Salto could produce a world record bass. The lake record stands at 18.8 pounds. During the 2008-09 season, repeat customers said they experienced the best fishing ever for quality and quantity by catching untold numbers of 7- to 9-pound bass with a good many in the 10- to 13-pound range. This year, the rainy season came as expected, the lake level has been raising at a steady pace but still has more to go with another 4 to 5 weeks of rain to come, so the outstanding fishing should continue into the 2009-10 season.
