SALTWATER OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND IN ANGLER’S PARADISE
About 40 yards behind the boat, the giant fish exploded through the churning white wake as it snatched a lure, it’s sharp bill slashing the water like a samurai sword. Jumping almost like a bass, the blue marlin -- or perhaps an enormous black or striped marlin -- valiantly attempted to dislodge the hook. Failing that, it stripped hundreds of yards of line from the sizzling reel as it sounded in 700 feet of water.
Hissing with heat, the reel strained against the horrific strength of the monster fish. For every foot of line regained, the fish ripped three from the smoking reel. Subdued, but never defeated, the spike-nosed leviathan eventually reached the boat after a herculean 90-minute battle.
You too can experience this kind of action every day in the shadow of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Fed by the warm currents of the sapphire-blue Pacific Ocean, the west coast of Mexico provides world-class saltwater action for many species. Since blue water lies less than 20 miles offshore, anglers can often catch various inshore and offshore species in the same day.
Perhaps you prefer to toss light tackle for abundant Pacific sailfish up to 150 pounds – within sight of the City of Sails! Maybe you wish to catch dolphin, huge yellowfin tuna or challenge massive swordfish in the Sea of Cortez off Mazatlan or score a five-billfish slam. Maybe you want to bounce bottom for tasty amberjack, grouper and snapper or cast inshore waters for spectacular roosterfish, snook, corvina and other fish.
Whatever your desire, the professional staff at Anglers Inn International can plan a customized excursion that meets all of your needs and expectations.
“We have the best captains, the best equipment and the best service in Mazatlan,” said Hall of Fame angler Billy Chapman, Jr., owner and founder of Anglers Inn International. “Our goal is to provide everything and anything our customers need when it comes to services. We provide services not available by other charter fleets, such as superior box lunches made fresh daily, cooking your own catch at a unique and exclusive location and freezing the rest for you to take home.”
